Prepare for Graduate School

Advanced, focused, and specialized knowledge are typically terms that differentiate a graduate degree program from undergraduate. Therefore, graduate or professional education is an appropriate choice if you want to explore a field of knowledge in greater depth than undergraduate education allows, or if you need a specific kind of professional education to move toward your career goals.  However, it is not unusual to go on to graduate school several years after completing an undergraduate degree.

Begin by gathering information on graduate programs by speaking with faculty in your discipline,

researching graduate/professional schools on-line through resources including Peterson’s Guide and GradSchools.com, and through professional associations related to your field.

Your research should include the specializations of the faculty; program size; experiential/research opportunities, graduation requirements, financial aid, career services, location, etc.

Please refer to the Graduate School module on Canvas for further information.
