Assuming such a broad and boundary-spanning role, the marketing function encompasses a range of responsibilities and activities, from understanding the market and customers, developing and managing products/services, communicating and engaging with customers, designing and managing the channel of distribution, to pricing for the value created for the customers. It takes a team of professionals to execute the marketing function. It offers a wide range of exciting and creative career opportunities such as, Advertising, Public Relations, Market Research, Sales, Branding, Product Management and Digital Marketing. Virtually all industries – consumer, B2B, for-profit, not-for-profit – are arenas where you can build a marketing career.
